Name: Piper Boies
Occupation: Special Ed Teacher; Head High School Tennis Coach; Middle School Tennis Coach; Tennis Professional (Kind of!)
Born: Austin, TX. Grew up in Sunrise Beach, TX (on Lake LBJ). Graduated from Mason High School in 1999. Graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Special Education. Currently working on a Master of Science in Educational Technology at A&M Corpus Christi.
Bits of Interest: I grew up on Lake LBJ so I LOVE the water and everything that goes with it (boats, skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, fishing, etc). My mother put a tennis racquet in my hand when I was 2 years old. She threw balls to me in the kitchen until she thought I was going to break a window! 15 years later, as a junior, I won State in Girls Doubles with my cousin. My senior year, my sister and I got 2 nd at State in Girls Doubles.
I absolutely LOVE to travel as well. Taking surf trips to Mexico is one of my favorite things to do. Nothing beats lying in a hammock on a sparsely populated, pristine beach looking at the crystal clear blue water of the Pacific.
Ambitions: To crew on a sailboat in the Caribbean or South Pacific for a summer.
